Many parents have questions about how to help their picky eaters. Set a good example by eating and enjoying a variety of foods. Your child is more likely to try foods if he sees you eating them, too.
Battles at the table?
As a parent, your job is to pick the menu for the meal, pick where the meal happens, and when.
Your child's job is to decide how much they eat.
When we force kids to take another bite or clean their plate, we may accidently be teaching them to ignore their stomach and fullnes cues. Offering regular meals and snacks will make sure your child gets plenty of opportunities to eat.
If you feel that you are still concerned your child is not eating enough, or their weight is a concern, reach out to your WIC dietitian for extra support!
